Walmart Canada Partners With Nurun to Extend Multichannel Commerce to Bricks-and-Mortar Stores

Walmart Canada Walmart to provide Canadian shoppers with greater choice and flexibility over their end-to-end shopping experience.

Nurun is pleased to announce the continuation of our partnership with Walmart Canada, following the successful Q4 2013 launch of the responsively designed Walmart.ca. Over the course of 2014, Nurun will work with Walmart Canada to introduce new digital in-store content and services that enhance the in-store shopping experience.

“Digital is revolutionizing the traditional retail experience,” said Emily Bond, EVP and General Manager, Nurun in Toronto. “By incorporating new technologies into existing Walmart Canada’s stores, we can deliver the same breadth, level of customization, and service that consumers expect from e-commerce shopping to their experiences in-store, fostering a consistent experience across brand channels and touchpoints.”

Extending multichannel commerce to the local store level will provide Walmart Canada customers with a more informed shopping experience as they move between researching and buying products online and in-store. In-store shoppers will soon be able to quickly and conveniently access Walmart.ca’s “extended aisle” assortment, as well as detailed pricing and product information.

Nurun will be responsible for all consumer research, user experience strategy, interaction design, visual design, front-end development, back-end development and project management associated with the project.
