Toronto—February 4, 2013

Nurun is pleased to announce that Ryan Bigge, a Content Strategist at Nurun Toronto, has been selected to speak at the 2013 South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSW).

Ryan’s presentation, “Creating Great Analog Souvenirs for a Digital Era” will explore the various ways people bring permanence to their digital lives. Focusing on analog souvenirs, Ryan will explain what they are, why they are so popular and how agencies and artists can create their own.

Ryan will draw upon his experience at the Canadian Film Centre’s Interactive Art and Entertainment Program, where he co-created two analog souvenir prototypes, txt2hold and tweet2hold, that converted ephemeral digital experiences into tangible physical objects.

“Since completing those prototypes in 2011, I've noticed an increasing number of analog souvenirs being created by both agencies and artists,” said Ryan. “Although Nurun is a digital agency, we strive to integrate the physical world whenever possible. That might mean paper prototypes for iPad apps, Post-it Note brainstorm sessions or our recent retail work on digital in-store experiences.”

Ryan is a former cultural journalist who previously spoke about physidigital objects at NXNEi in June 2012. He is also the organizer of the Toronto Content Strategy Meetup.

Ryan will be speaking on Tuesday, March 12, at the Omni Downtown in Austin, Texas. For more information about Ryan’s SXSW presentation, please view the official SXSW schedule.
