Guthrie Dolin to Speak at the 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

Welcome to the Connected Age Dolin has helped design digital and mobile products and services for clients such as Coca-Cola, Google, and Tesla Motors.

San Francisco—June 7, 2013

Guthrie Dolin, Executive Director of Strategy at Nurun’s San Francisco office, will be a featured speaker on the Cannes Forum, “Welcome to the Connected Age,” on June 18, during the 60th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Presented by the Society of Digital Agencies, the Forum will explore how new mobile products and services can be used to connect brands and consumers.

The Forum will be moderated by Greg Stuart, CEO, Mobile Marketing Association, and in addition to Dolin, speakers will include Stuart Eccles, Founding Partner, Made by Many; Drew Ungvarsky, Founder, Grow Interactive; and Wesley ter Haar, founder, MediaMonks. The group will explore the uses of mobile to create innovative products and services that deliver both utility and delight. Further discussion topics include the growth of the self-service economy, enhancing retail and real-world experiences, strengthening relationships that exist between brands and consumers, and new opportunities that will arise in the next few years.

“With our panel discussion, I hope to expand the conversation and provide a counterpoint to the existing notions of innovation in creative communications,” said Guthrie. “In our mobile-first, always connected landscape, we must challenge marketing as a stand-alone practice, and instead understand how it conspires with products, services and experiences to enrich the relationship between customers and brands.”

Based in Nurun’s San Francisco office, Guthrie sets the vision and leads the strategy practice there, spearheading strategic engagements for clients such as Google, Coca-Cola and Tesla Motors. Previously, Guthrie developed innovative new ventures for design consultancy IDEO and founded Department 3, an award-winning design agency. Guthrie sits on the board of several startups and has taught at the Institute of Design at Stanford University (a.k.a., the d.school).

Now celebrating its 60th anniversary, Cannes Lions is the world’s largest gathering of creative professionals. This year, more than 11,000 people from 90 countries around the world will gather to learn from one another and honor the work that is shaping the future of communications. The Festival is held in Cannes, France, and will run June 16 through June 22.
